It's been a long time since I have posted anything online. I have been so busy with getting work and family life sorted out. Finding the balance between family and career has always been difficult. The one thing that is number one on this Earth is my family.
Number two is the Allen Americans. My wife is the one who introduced Allen hockey to me. For that I am grateful. We as Allen fans have been through so much as a community: coaching changes, ownership changes, 4 championships in seven years in existence, and missing the playoffs for the first time in our first 10 years of operation let's ignore that for right now.
We start out as acquaintances, grow into friends, but in the end... friends become family.
We were well in our run for #REDemption and then our season and potential long playoff run was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I'm not sure about the other fans, but this fan was suffering from hockey withdrawal. It wasn't so much the winning on the ice, it didn't hurt though, it was the fans, the "LET'S GO AL-LEN!!", the "RED RED RED!!", the relationships we formed due to the Allen Americans being in existence (from other fans to current and former players, angels, and staff). Most fans being long term season ticket holders, like myself, have come to watch some fans grow up right before our eyes. Being a hockey fan in Allen is like playing the long game. We start out as acquaintances, grow into friends, but in the end... friends become family.
I am forever grateful for our owner Jack Gulati, president Michael Waddel, and management staff to have the foresight and courage to go on and have a hockey season, as limited as it is. Thank you for helping this fan's family to keep growing.
